Ladies Section

The Club has a friendly ladies section which give a warm welcome to all new members,
both experienced and those new to the game.

Tuesday is our ladies competition day, play begins at 10.30am. Play is usually in threes and
most weeks there is a draw for partners, either in divisions or in an open draw. There are
some competitions which are posted on the notice board for ladies to add their names with a chosen partner. The business ladies play their competitions at the weekend but they are very welcome on a Tuesday when they are free.

On average, over 40 ladies play on competition days, with many more playing on special
occasions.These include Spring and Autumn meetings, Invitation days, lady Captain's day
and the Christmas competition. This year our section entered teams in the County Scratch league, Mail on Sunday knockout competition, Interclub foursomes, Powell Cup and the Pearson Trophy. We also have a programme of ladies friendly matches during the year with other local clubs, these take place between May and September. Mixed matches are also played within the club and also against other local clubs.

There are many informal groups of ladies who play on other days in the week and also a
list in the ladies changing room of ladies who are happy to be contacted for a game, particularly by new members.
