Rob Leonard

Head Professional

Rob Leonard is our Head Professional at Harpenden Common Golf Club. As a junior he was a member at Harpenden Common and his amateur career highlights were winning the Hertfordshire County Championship, The Roseberry Cup and the South of England Championship, having a handicap of plus 3. Rob qualified as a Professional through the PGA programme and since turning Professional in 2007 he has enjoyed some notable achievements including multiple Pro-am victories, two East Region Order of Merit Wins and two Hertfordshire Professional Championships. Louis Hindle

Shop Team

Louis joined the Harpenden Common Golf Club shop team in 2018, having already made his mark as Junior Captain in 2016.
He spent two years at the Lee Westwood Golf School, where he honed his skills on and off the course — including an impressive 6-under-par round at Stoke by Nayland.
Since joining the shop team, Louis has built extensive knowledge of golf equipment and custom fitting. If you’ve got questions about products, fittings, or anything golf-related, Louis is always happy to help you find exactly what you need.

Alex Crawford

Lead PGA Coach & Director Tour Shed Academy

Alex Crawford is the Director of the Tour Shed Academy — an ever-growing junior program designed to help young golfers discover the game and support those already playing to reach the next level.
A fully qualified PGA Professional, Alex works with golfers of all ages and abilities. His coaching philosophy focuses on helping every player reach their full potential through tailored lessons and continual improvement.
Originally a junior golfer at Redbourn, Alex began his coaching career at Aldwickbury Golf Club before joining Harpenden Common in 2020. Since then, he’s completed his PGA Coaching Degree and continues to drive forward the club’s coaching programs with enthusiasm and expertise.

Aaron Patel

PGA Coach

Arron is one of our dedicated Teaching Professionals at Harpenden Common Golf Club.
As an amateur, he achieved two collegiate wins at Division One level in the United States, competing off a +3 handicap. Now a professional, Arron is completing his PGA and TPI certifications, deepening his knowledge of the golf swing and biomechanics to offer a truly holistic coaching experience.

His background in competitive golf, combined with a passion for player development, allows Arron to help golfers of all levels refine their performance. His forward-thinking approach and commitment to excellence make him one of the next generation’s rising talents in golf coaching.

Dean Hodges

Custom Fit Specialist

Known to everyone as Deano, our Custom Fit Specialist at the Tour Shed brings several years of experience in the world of custom fitting. A proud member of Harpenden Common Golf Club since 2011, Deano is also a regular competitor for the HCGC Scratch Team.

A passionate Ipswich Town supporter, he’s always happy to chat football as well as golf when you see him around the club.

Deano’s expertise covers all major club brands, and he’s dedicated to finding the perfect equipment setup to suit your game. Whether you’re looking to fine-tune your current clubs or start fresh, be sure to pop into the shop to book a custom fitting session with him at the Tour Shed.
